Hi guys, sorry to put it in such a way.

So, allow me to put it in a nutshell.

I have zero need for any metro apps.
I also use very few bundled windows programs. notepad and calculator yes, but most things I simply install 3rd party apps.

Some of the tings I've read in the past couple make me wonder how well all that works.

For example: mpc-hc and vlc. Winamp and foobar. etc.
Will these kinds of apps function??
Any limitations I would need to know about ahead of time..??

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the info.

It's about wasting time for nothing. For example, if there was some reduced functionality, then it really is better to know ahead of time. At least to me it is.

One last question: Can I go from anniversary to ltsb 2016 without a format...??

    Thanks.

mpc-hc seems to function fine for me but I an running the Ltsb 2015 n version currently.
I have used it in 2016 Ltsb n as well but prefer 2015 so far.

@budzos that's funny sometimes I also stay on doubt if LTSB 2015 or LTSB 2016 for several reasons :g:

There's also a "Win10-Enterprise2015-LTSB-N-Privacy" Version, which has many things removed (regarding Privacy) as well as some 'normal' Apps, which come with any Windows version. Maybe a 2016 Version of that also exist?!

Check out on this forum (and the Internet) what is it all about!

I have also removed pretty almost everything I could down to bare bones because all the extras and eye candy annoy me.

So you don't want to waste time but you do want to use Windows 10 - talk about your mixed signals! :)

Note that LTSB only gets new versions (feature upgrades) every 2-3 years instead of twice a year. So, if there are new features you like, in (for example) Redstone 2, you won't get them. You would have to wait until the next LTSB.

    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
BEFORE you do the inplace upgrade.

    Cheers.

After a smart mouth post earlier, I decided I needed to "waste" some time myself. Thanks to the great instructions, I did an upgrade which allowed me to keep my applications and settings. I have to admit, I considered starting fresh, but decided I could do it again later if I didn't like my current collection of goodies.

I hope Rikkins didn't think it was offensive. I thought your smart mouthed post was funny and to the point, but that's just me. Then you admitted you thought it might have been offensive. You have proven you are human and willing to admit you may have done wrong. There's a fine line between humor, sarcasm, and offending someone; and you seemed to have walked that tightrope well. Now, I hope what I just said didn't offend Rikkens. And now, I may be wrong. So are you right, or am I wrong, or are we both wrong? I have now managed to confuse myself in a slightly amusing thread about a confusing operating system.
