This page checks if someone stole your identity, which is based on your email. It's a free service.

While you're at it, PM me your bank details, and I`ll check it against my database to make sure I don't already have it

I would appreciate it if you do that, the owner of the email address then will get an summery if his account/email/data are used on other platforms.

It would be a sly trick to get people's emails, if it wasn't so easy to see thru it.

Yet, Bat is spamming this present thread with his irrelevant off-topic remark. :p

Yeah... looks great. An East German website... Who knows more about spying and collecting data, than they would....

Even the impressum is very informative....
"HPI reserves the right to make changes or additions to the information displayed."

To find out about your e-mail it is always great to give your e-mail adress to someone you know NOTHING about.

Tell us: Has anyone independently confirmed, that that site is trustworthy?

The page is secure and if you look at the FAQ and 'response e-mails' you would have known that it even uses a digital signature together with an explanation how the response email looks like.

Collecting eMails via a page isn't really necessary, you simply could use a bot to send spam on each avaible letter combination and then add known email providers after the @-prefix. Besides this without a password your email is uninteresting.

    Identity theft is the problem.

You mean "were" instead of "seem to be".

I see no argument which makes you a target by posting your email address. It's designed to share. The FAQ also answers every question.
