Is there a reason I'm not supposed to Mod a backup of my BIOS for SLIC 2.1?

I was trying to Mod a PC which came with SLIC 2.0 originally. I couldn't find the bios for my PC. So, I decided to mod the backup I created. After re-flashing it, I have SLIC 2.1 installed. In the tutorial, it says you are not supposed to mod backups. Is the mod fine or am I going to have issues?

    Thanks.

It might just be a precaution not to mod your only existing backup copy, in that case make two backups and only mod one of them. So you still have an unmodified backup if you need it later.

Phoenix backup bios can't be flashed due to missing platform data. Most of the other types of bioses can be flashed from backup.
