I'm looking for a way to cut down on the huge number of file templates (right-click-new) in windows 7. Used to be able to use Tweak UI to do it but... 7 doesn't play nice with tweak ui anymore. Anyone else know of or use any utilities that can edit the templates list?

Either that or has someone "fixed" the Tweak UI binary so it skips the OS check? :p

I agree 110% with NoJuan999; the yamicsoft manager is an excellent tool with plenty of options. I'm using it, as I did with their Vista Manager as well.
    Totally reliable...IMHO.
Won't take you long to find a version with a <C.O.R.E.> keygen, I'm using v1.1.3 as a licensed user....

Windows 7 Manager 1.2.5 (latest) is definitely in my list of essential utility. What it does for me (apart from regular cleaning up):
    1. customise the start menu program (useful to remove some useless icons and add games).
    2. remove shortcut to item from desktop
    3. remove many action centre notifications.
    4. display computer (instead of libraries) by default on windows explorer icon.

Plus many more which make it very useful and reasonably safe.

One question to timesurfer who also uses windows 7 manager:
In the optimisation menu/system speed/start up, what boxes can I safely tick to speed up boot. I have perhaps done 3 things: cancel scanning of ide, prefetching part, and one more at the last. Also, in shutdown, does sliding it to slow for all 3 items speed up shutdown or something else. Basically, if I have bittorrent or any other apps running, shutting down should be fast without getting a nag screen (waittokillapptimeout also works).

I have not tried that advanced stuff. Mostly I use it to daily clean registry and useless files. I have older version and don't know how to upgrade with whatever app

If I can use the newer version (1.2.5), why cant you!!!. Plus, if you have a serial (easily found on some 33 sites!!!) for older versions (say 1+), auto update from within program does not change activation status. Alternate is to download 1.2.5 from yamicsoft and install it on top.
Do not see much visible difference between 1.2.1 (what I started out with) and the present 1.2.5. I prefer to download the app from yamicsoft and the serial from somewhere else!!! Best combination.
