I purchased a game for my little daughter but if I format and redownload the game, I have to do all the in-app purchases for upgrades/coins (money for the game), etc. and I lose all the played progress.

I contacted the developer and he advised me that the only way to have all this backed up is to be using a Microsoft account and not a local one.

The thing is, I don't want to use a Microsoft account I just sign in to the store with my Microsoft account. Now I can reinstall the game just fine without buying it since it's in my library but all the progress and upgrades are gone and I have to start from scratch.

I tried searching for the game files but its directories are all protected and I can't open the folders.

Isn't there any app out there that can easily backup/restore Microsoft apps/games?

Your progress is saved to the cloud. Make sure xbox app has the same profile logged in. Then upon first starting the game after re-install, it downloads all your progress from cloud to your hard disk.

I'm using Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC and I added the Microsoft Store obviously but I can't find the original Xbox apps. The one that is shown when searching in the Windows Store says Xbox (Beta)

If you have the Xbox apps, can you click on each one of them then get the link by clicking on the share button and give it to me please

hopefully you scanned files first, to be sure...
    also..
... I am pretty certain (although havent tried it myself)
that there must be a way to achieve the desired result.. using backup software like Acronis or Paragon
.. which if memory serves, allowed the backup of files (independently)... also
in conjunction with software like REVO which can track registry entries, that you can simply re-apply... possiby to be continued........

Backing up was fine but restoring doesn't work. I copied the pkinst.exe or whatever it's called to the Windows\System32 folder but when I run it, it gives me an unknown error.
