A few months back my friend had purchased two retail licenses for Windows 10 Pro from MS online store, one he activated on his new assembled PC and the another he activated on a VMware VM on that same PC for heaven knows what reason. Both the digital licenses are linked to different MS accounts. Now my friend has purchased another assembled PC for entertainment/gaming purpose and wants to transfer the license of the activated VMware VM to this new entertainment/gaming PC using the link MS account run activation troubleshooter process. Is this even possible? Because I've read somewhere that MS activation servers classify digital licenses based on the device type (desktops/laptops as one physical machine category, VMs another category and so on) and even though same MS account can be used across different device types but digital licenses cannot be transferred between device types. I don't want to sound like answering my own question here but that's what I've read elsewhere on the internet and I do not know if it is still true considering how many feature updates W10 has gone through and with how MS keeps changing things. Can someone please clarify this entire thing for me?

You simply could install Windows 10 with no Product key. After that is done use the origin PKey to activate, and, if declined, call the next MS Activation Server on the given phone number and explain that the hardware was changed and you need a new activation key. Normally you could use a few times an origin PKey several times on different hardware. There should be no problem.
Okay guys, an update on this, my friend (who has been postponing this thing and using Enterprise Evaluation on his new PC till now) finally tried transferring his Microsoft Account linked Windows 10 Pro digital license of a VMware VM to his new assembled entertainment PC and it worked perfectly. So, YES, it is confirmed that ONE CAN INDEED TRANSFER DIGITAL LICENSE from a VM to an actual physical machine. Upon succesful transfer of the license, the VM was automatically deleted from the Devices section of his Microsoft Account home page. My friend deleted the VM as well. However my friend has still saved/backed up the activated VM's .vmx configuration file which when used to create a new VM in the future will activate it with a digital license and is unlikely to cause any issue to the activated physical PC as long as an MS Account is not used on it.
3-4 Years ago some MDL members invented HWID on the fly generation, next time just use the tool i hint at in my sig
Suppose a PC has a digital license for 10 Pro which was gotten using a genuine product key and the license is linked to MS Account. Now if someone uses this *tool* to get a digital license for a 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021, can that license be SAFELY linked to the same MS Account to which the 10 Pro license is linked to? Also, supposing it is possible to link it, will the same physical PC show up as TWO SEPARATE LINKED DEVICES on the Devices page of MS Account because the editions differ?
I doubt that the IoT Ent. 2021 LTSC HWID can be linked to the MSA and working. Given the tool can generate as many HWIDs as you like, no need to have it linked and working
