    Hi all,

Hope i've not missed this question thread mentioned before but here goes on my learning curve.

My Toshiba Satellite dual boots Win 8.1 x86 and Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

Within Ubuntu, i've got VirtualBox running Win7 x86

    Within 8.1 i've got VMWare running 10 Pro x86

My thinking is i should have installed 8.1 Pro x64 as the base O/S and built things from there, but hey, it's a learning curve.

    Anyway. My question is:

Can/Are VM's interchangable between VMWare and VirtualBox within a dual boot set up.

Thanks in advance for any help/direction,

Probably should have highlighted this. My set-up is a dual boot. One using VMWare. The other using VirtualBox?

VB can use the VMware disks. So if you use them you can start the VM machine both VB and VMw.

The opposite isn't true: VMware can't use the VB disks, so if you have the machine in VB format you must convert them in VMware format, then you can use them in both environments.
