Is Windows 8.1 preview stable???How can we upgrade it with windows Store???Will it be upgradable to Windows 8.1 final or shall we install again from the scratch???
It appears know one will post about win8.1 performance compared to normal win8.it makes me want to try it, maybe not... Lol
Windows 8.1 Preview is just a BETA, nothing less, noting more! Period! Microsoft warned Users of Windows 8.1 of their website and told that only experienced users should use it for testing purpose in an Non-Production Environment. Didn't tell's that enough? From my own point of view, I could frankly tell that I didn't have any problems (yet) with it and 32bit and neither 64bit, Upgrade from older 8 and clean install. But that's for me, others will for sure have more or less experiences.
So why can't the experienced users post the beta experience? I would but I'm not in the comfort of my home, I'm being one with nature ATM
Nvidia control panel doesn't seem to work for my GTX 285, but I was using Server 2012 R2. Someone else in the forum here reported the same issue with 8.1 Preview. Other than that, I think 8.1 Preview is much better performance-wise, though I do not like the changes to the start menu or the new start button. I am running it as the only operating system on my 2007 iMac and it is running great. It is well worth the upgrade if you are performance minded.
For some reason, you're right! I've to change my glasses quite often the day and if I do some fine work with +350 I could still read a bit the screen it's just unclear. Post will be edited and change to the right number! Sorry for that. But we all do typos a lot everyday! Personally I don't mind about that but there some members/user's around they seems to looking just for that for to have something for to complain! And that's not a good intention, generally speaking!
Windows 8.1 Preview is in my testing, a lot, and by quite a stretch too, a lot more stable than Windows 8. I'd personally recommend *anyone* to install Windows 8.1 Preview on all their primary day to day use machines. All the stuff that existed on Windows 8 doesn't have any added bugs, though some of the Windows 8.1 Preview applications has some occasional bugs. There is only one major bug that occurs if you try to make a second account, as long as you don't, you'll have an overall better and more stable experience with Windows 8.1 Preview. TL;DR: Windows 8.1 Preview is in my testing a lot stabler, by quite a stretch. Just don't make a secondary account and you'll be fine. P.S. I've used Windows 8.1 Preview every single day since release, pretty much 12+ hours a day, so I am pretty certain it's stabler when I say so.
A random temp file gets a filename that's higher than the allowed, and it totally corrupts the account. If you manage to log into it, you need to manually start everything from system user from task manager. It's very strange.
