I use a (with a little help by X ) self modded AWARD bios. I made it with the first known, today a call it "oldfashioned" method. This uses a non dynamic, fixed memory address for SLIC in ram. So i can´t extend ramsize without again modding the bios, otherwise the OS wouldn´t be longer activated. Today i did a new mod using cbrom 1.82 with the ISA method. Before i now flash this, my question is, has this kind of mod a dynamic memory adress for SLIC? If not, i could avoid the risk of flashing and let everything as it is. Thx in advance Pauline PS: Greetings to X. Are you still here?
ISA module is programmed to use dynamic addressing. Most other methods are "super static", which means they are using a fixed address at a RAM-amount independent area. So all "our" methods allow to up and downgrade the amount of RAM without loosing activation. Yen
Hi oneceagain, it works quite fine and, compared to my first manually mod it was so simple Thx alot Pauline
