Hi I have purchased a Windows 8 pro (£24.99) license using the microsoft upgrade download thing I was wondering if anyone knew where it downloads the .iso (if it downloads an iso at all) to? The reason I ask is that I have 3 computers to install it on and I don't want to have to download it three times. I basically want to purchase the 3 different product keys but use the same image. If that makes any sense? Cheers Ali
HI, Check your purchase - there are two options = download or real DVD. Check your brower for default download location (should have asked where to save file) Check your E-Mail used to purchase software from Microsoft ( they sent a link for download ) Any of the applies to any purchase of software on-line. It is usually the last one that most manufactures use. They would have also sent any required "key" in the e-mail. Hope this helps - Good Luck
Hi, thanks for the reply, It doesn't download through my browser it downloads within in a program (windows 8 upgrade program thing) So it doesn't download to a default directory. the link i have in my email just takes me to that program and not to get the actual iso
That is correct - it links you to the download site or starts the download There should be instructions on how to download and "burn" the ISO Some sites use a download program to track the downloads (from who - link used - how many times - link has passcode if required) the "default" download directories are usually your desktop or Userfiles downloads (for Windows 7) Users/username/downloads such as = c:\Users\Gamer\Downloads\ If you want just the product 'key" - check out this link - found it today www-windows7ultimateskey-com/ (replace - with . to work) Microsoft will not sell you JUST the "key" - you will get the "key" and CD/DVD - AT FULL PRICE!!!!! EX: Windows Seven Ultimate product key is $149.95 - you get a DVD even if you do not want it. Happy Computing
At the end of your purchase Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant gives you three options : 1) Install Now 2) Install by creating media (USB) 3) Install later from your desktop If you choose to create your own media or choose to install later, you will be able to create your own bootable USB or .ISO file
OK, then you want to do option 3 This should download the ISO file to your desktop. Then create a DVD with whatever "burner" software you have. A little trick to save the ISO file - copy the file to DVD as a data file. Verify copy by copying back to your MY Documents and leave it here (instead of desktop) Do this if you are installing Windows 8 on the PC you are using to download. When you want to make another install DVD - copy it back to your desktop.
