I wanted to upgrade my VM Windows ENT 10240 x64 --> 10586 ENT x64 with the TH2 iso mounted. Normally I start my VM with 1024 MB and dynamic memory with a minimum RAM of 512 MB. Great memory saver!!! :worthy:

THAT WON'T WORK WHEN UPGRADING

You have to set the Miniumum RAM memory to 2024 MB before installation in the VM properties with HYPER-V manager and change it back to 512 MB after upgrading.

This is an upgrade flaw in a VM environment...

HYPER-V is one of the issues "dealt with" in today's update KB3105211, try it.. If you cannot download it, it is already linked in the 10586 Discussion thread.

Edit: I see your edit, they probably know that and the KB fix will be integrated within the next release.

Still amazing to me that such an obvious bug slipped through Micro$ofts quality control. Or lack of quality control might be the simple answer.

What next release, the msdn iso will not contain any more updates than the already released esd's.

I still can't help but think Win10 has something to do with all these hard drive failures. I mean I've had 2 brand new drives start throwing bad sectors in less than 24 hours of use. I would love to just use SSD across the board but they are far too expensive and too small of capacity.
