Hi guys I am having trouble with installing windows 7 using a USB stick. To create win7 bootable drive I have the diskpart approach, widely available on youtube . Now when I insert my usb and set bios to boot from usb I get the BOOTMGR is missing error. I have attached the snapshot of the same. This error does not come when I try to boot from cd drive (however that approach is giving some other issues ). Can someone please help me with this issue.
rotfl what the fkuc is a normal UEFI bios.?? lol i think u mean legacy not UEFI secure mode. so NO IT WONT WORK IN UEFI SECURE MODE IF ITS NTFS (this is why win7 has the hidden 100 mb fat partition )
Well MS USB-Win7-Tool has worked for me with EFI and UEFI, so I guess I have never had any secure mode enabled on all those boards
it worked.. but no EFI mode.. only legacy boot. bios might be EFI.. but it was set to Legacy boot likely. lets say u have a win8 pc u want to install 7 x64 on it.. it wont boot usb unless u change it to legacy boot in bios.. or make usb fat32 and have the efi64 file
Ah ok, I am yet to encounter one of these locked up PCs, my boards have always come as a custom board from eBuyer etc, I never buy a pre-built PC, I build my own
Seems I need to explain that a NORMAL BIOS isn't an UEFI BIOS, it's just and BIOS without EFI/UEFI! I had NOT written "normal UFEI bios"!
