A little background thought I'd ask here first. point me to the correct place to post.

Hi all, back in 2020 due to life during the pandemic blah blah blah, started using my laptop due to having only a small space to live in. During that time switched back to my Haswell Windows 7 box.

In 2021 or 2022 started using a desktop Alien PC with windows 10 & still have them All work as expected. I opened the laptop that had Win10 Pro, Windows Update updated itself with 11 Pro.

Did not remember it was insider preview. Some time between 2021, 2022, or early 2023 I left the Insider preview. When someone leaves I assume the system does automagicly a group policy.

"Target release date for feature updates" and also "Target product version for feature updates" That is what it states on gpedit when I look for the keys to change back on the laptop

Now the settings I need are grayed out in "windows update, advanced options, configure update policies on the laptop and I can not change back. Sorry for the rant brain isn't working properly.

(most recently hurt ribs reaching over desk slip & fell can't move very good is my main obstacle) Thanks for any thoughts.
