Looks hideous. The machine is definitely not a final model because OEM machines will have the new Windows logo on the keyboard as well, and on that one it's still the "orb" logo.
Yep, its the final, official Windows 8 Vinyl decal for OEM PC's... oh well, im still buying them in bulk
They don't seem to be printed on the same type of foil as previous badges so it's a waste of time trying to peele one at your local BB.
Yeah, noticed, they leave an imprint, and a missing bit of glue on the sitcker, it is really annoying, but i still replaced all my stickers...
Like Vista and Win 7, the only two badges are "Windows 8" & "Windows 8 Compatible." Also I found a way to restore the peeled stickers to nearly pristine condition. I will probably create a post detailing how I accomplished it (so simple). And lastly, I was told the best way to peel a badge with minimal damage was from the bottom corner because the fragile hologram at the top of the label damages very easy. I said all of this because if you’re waiting for these to be listed on eBay you will be waiting for a loooong time, plus the listing will probably be pulled within 2 day since it’s not legal to be pushing OEM badges anyway. I got a private contact in Poland who gets his hands on just about every badge you can think of and he told me it may be a while before these are available, and that he won’t be selling on eBay because it’s not allowed.
I've seen and bought a ALOT of OEM badges off eBay numerous times. It just ridiculous with their radical changes not letting people sell legitimate stickers. eBay or not, they will find their way to the internet for sale.
No, there are two types: W8 and W8 Pro. You can buy Vista an W7 badges on ebay, they are not on the pictures but if you read sellers description they will send you an email with pictures of available badges and instructions how to buy them on ebay. The badges are made in China and send from China so Poland is not up to date.
The "Windows 8" badge is referred to as and understood to be the "Win 8 Pro" badge but it is not labeled as such. Your absolutely right about the eBay posting because I have obtained my share of badges via eBay over the years, but you will occasionally find a listing with the actual pic although it doesn’t stay up very long, and since Win 8 still have the new car scent on it you’d better believe these stickers are currently under tight police at the print facilities in The People's Republic of China, and eBay is being patrolled 24/7 for theft of intellectual property. Why else would they go the extra distance of making these stickers tamper proof for the first time ever??
