you can never be prepaired for something like this to happen, you can only recover and hope it doesnt happen again
The sad thing is the entire region is next to or within the Ring of Fire , so basic plate tectonics will always cause havoc there.
It is a tragedy with atleast 1700 people dead and 10000 missing. Light a candle and say a prayer, lets give them a silent minute. I really would like to go help and search for those missing people in Japan!
Imagine how bad it could have been if they didn't have this system, more here. Auto shutdown services and utilities can't beat the Japanese for coolness, makes the response to the 2004 Tsunami look antiquated.
Condolences to all those that have lost someone in the quake. I live just south of Christchurch in NZ and felt the Quake we had here a few weeks ago.
Irony or just bad taste: Stars Kids & Family (premium movie network in USA) is currently showing "Godzilla vs. Mothra" I will never look at disaster movies in quite the same way anymore.
I have to agree with yout, especially movies like godzilla or any other japanese movies. Cant we go there and help search?
this is just awful,... i have been reading news updates from the beginning, and if the nuclear (wich already did, but were being told it didn't) s**t hits the fan, the japanese people will be in for a long and rough ride, shivers down my spine...... awful s**t this.... my condoleances and the deepest respect for the japanese people
Absolutely my highest condoleances and the deepest respect in Japan, and especially for them who stays there and working their asses off to save them! I will never be thankful enough for what they do! I wish I could go there and them myself!
My heart is with the people of Japan. I just came from Sri Lanka where flooding (north-eastern monsoon) has caused 1 million citizens temporarily homeless at February. Strange that there were almost no reports about at the web. Sri Lanka was also hit by the tsunami 2004, where 65000 people died. I was sitting to have lunch somewhere in Sri Lanka when suddenly all people moved to the TV. I have watched their faces, a tsunami again hits a country, this time it is Japan. Later back home then I got to know about explosions at the nuclear plant. I cannot express what I'm feeling.......I only can say that anybody who is still convinced by the nuclear technology to produce power is a plain idiot. Anybody who plans to build a new plant is a fool. We need to replace those plants by alternative ways to produce power, we should be clever enough to realize that quickly...otherwise it's still a matter of time until a nuclear disaster will happen again. Maru_7711, my friend, I hope you are fine and safe. My thoughts are with you and your fellow countrymen.
