Sorry if was already posted, but this forum is really growed in these days and it's difficult to find simple answers.. I flashed my bios with slic 2.1, charge hp cert and installed the famous key... Activated without problems like was at its time for Vista trick. Now that this key is gone blacklisted what can happen in short words? Must i add lines to host file? why? If i go on MS updates what can happen? Thanks...
The key is fine. The loader contains an Anti-WGA extra which disables the blacklisting. Your system should be activated?
I don't use loader... i flashed my bios. My doubt is about what really happen if i don't add fake address in host file?
Its fine without them. Don't take any notice of people saying them. It really doesn't help. There is a SMALL chance that the keys may be blacklisted from your machine without. But I have activated 5 machines and am not adding those host addons.
I doubt that adding those hosts workaround works because the dns entries are inside a dll or exe file (i dont remember the name). Someone tries to flush the addresses from memory by /flushdns but it didnt work. If you wanna be safe, IMHO: 1. disconnect from internet and activate your copy offline; 2. disable windows updates 3. connect to the internet That's it.
Yes... but my question is: What really happen? Updates are blocked? Windows go disactivated? MS trace your ip?
so far, nothing has happened. you can update windows online now if MS takes action, your system will be deactived. what you need to do is to find another oem key. dont worry about it too much. by the time, oem brands pc release, there will be many oem key around.
There is no need to sit there and run out and disconnect your box from the internet or worry about putting entries in the host file. As worst case scenario it will say your copy is not genuine and turn off aero and wallpaper until you change your key. Is MS going to trace your IP and come knocking at your door? No, but they will collect the country of the IP for reporting sake. MS loves to spread FUD but not really do anything in terms of actual action. If you are really that scared buy the OS.
I'm not scared at all... but i wished to make a clear question just to talk about it, here, in rightest place in the world. Anyway i think i'll buy it... not 'cause i'm scared, it's a great piece of software. And will be the first O.S., in the case, that i will buy. Maybe...
