Just used system restore to reverse a system that went non-genuine. Now what?

Just wondering what else I need to do to prevent this from happening again.

I've turned updates to manual download and install.

I got 971033 uninstalled, and have the Software Protection service disabled.

Is this what I should be doing? Missing anything?

    Thanks in advance.

I don't know what method you are using to activate but it ain't much good if kb971033 is flagging it as non genuine i would try and remove the current loader and use Daz loader.

IIRC I used Daz loader originally. Like 1.7.2 or something. I think I screwed it up by running the new 1.9.2 a couple weeks ago to change to a different key...

In any case, when I click remove on the current one I get:

    Using drive z:
Removed loader from the boot code.
Failed to install trial key (Ultimate)

I think I will unplug my other drives before I try to reinstall, but is that what I should be trying next? Reinstall Loader?

Also, does it matter which Key I use? I know you have to use the same SLIC and Cert but what about Serial?

Is there a better SLIC/Cert/Serial to install over another?

did you uninstall the previous loader before installing the new one?
