I know a few Russian programmers, and I have to say that the above statement is true. Russian students learn about this stuff in school. Oh, and it's very easy to make a piece of malware look like it is keyed to a specific locale. Simply embed a codepage (0x0409 = US) and some string resources into the resource segment. (e.g: A Dialog Box or a String Table that serves no purpose.) If I know this, and I'm just an old dinosaur, I shudder to think what some teenager with an agenda could do.

hi, i had to uninstall it and go back to Sophos Home Free because it was slowing down a lot MEMU android application launcher, and my STEAM games (Dirty Bomb). i don't know what was causing that slowness because in the task manager nothing was eating too much CPU, everything was "normal" only the games were incredibly slow...uninstalling kaspersky free fixed the problem immediatly, i didn't even had to reboot.
Well I keep the account open with £40 (I used to have £1 but the bank was going to close my account) and use something else, so the interest I'm losing by not investing the £40 in something safe with appalling rates of about 1 to 1.5% is peanuts so Kaspersky Internet security is near as damn it free...plus when 2018 ver comes out will upgrade that for free as well.
yep well one thing that make me nervous is today all good security applications are paid so I use only Adguard Premium until september/2017 because I earn license from one good member here after this time I need waste at least US$ 115,00 and nothing with AV
