    Try a system restore.

You can try to use uninstall programs: Revo Unistaller.

What problem are you having? There may be another way to fix what's going on.

Are you getting any error messages? If so, what are they. It's easy to blame a problem on updates, but you need to be looking for other causes too.

It seems you're saying some of your programs are no longer working. If that's the case, uninstall those that aren't working and reinstall them. It might be a good idea to run Ccleaner (or similar program) after the uninstalls to clean the crap ("Ccleaner" = "Crap cleaner") out of the registry.

Have you run the System File Checker? That might correct your problem. At the command prompt type sfc /scannow and press the Enter key. Let it run to completion.

If all else fails, considering the time you seem to have spent on this problem, you might want to consider backing up your data, wiping your drive and doing a clean install of Windows 7. If you take this tact, create a system image and keep it in a safe place once you get your system tweaked the way you want it. Having System Protection turned on to create Restore Points is a good idea too. You need a recovery plan you don't appear to have currently.
