That update failed i don't know why ! and i think windows will download it again i using Enterprise 64 with MTK 2.5 and kaspersky IS 2014 by the way why i always have some updates failed to install ? my internet connection is 1mb @ 120kb download speed how to find out that i have internet connectivity problems if so ?
Although WU is naming it KB2919355 it's actually a package containing: Code: Windows8.1-KB2919355-x64.msu 690.8 MB Windows8.1-KB2932046-x64.msu 48.0 MB Windows8.1-KB2934018-x64.msu 126.4 MB Windows8.1-KB2937592-x64.msu 303 KB Windows8.1-KB2938439-x64.msu 19.6 MB Windows8.1-KB2959977-x64.msu 2.8 MB Check which updates are properly installed to get some clue which ones were rejected.
Did you install the 7 update files in the right order ? and did you make reboot after the install update file require this ?
On one test PC I had to run ALL updates offered from WU (all 400+Mb of it) before Windows8.1-KB2919355-x64.msu update installed correctly
I made also a test with this KB2919355, since this update installed, it appeared 2 times again with a different size in WU. According to M$ this is a normal situation.
Some windows 8.1 users are getting a (windows 8.1 update error 80072f8f after kb2919355 install) this leads to a 80072f8f error in windows update, this error relates to a timing issue in synchronization between a user's computer and ms update servers, however this affected me and i had to delve into the registry and change the following subkey to enable my computer to receive updates once more (it's actually nothing to do with the timing at all, it's a pesky bug in a subkey that disables SSL connections in some circumstances. Open REGEDIT and navigate to : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\SSL2.0\Client in the sub key change REG_DWORD relating to DisabledByDefault from 0x00000001 (1) to 0x00000000 (0) this enabled my pc to connect to ms servers once more, hope this helps anyone else faced with similar woe.
Did you ever install the pre-release version of 2919442? That caused 2 of my systems to fail to install 2919355 here..
Thank u murphy I searched in update history and i found that update 2919442 already installed successful and i don't know the meaning of pre-release version I just let Win to download updates automatically not manually and not just the 2919355 failed i have many updates failed too (in update history)
You could try uninstalling updates one by one, but since 2919355 is a pre-requisite for some of them, you would have to uninstall it last.
Is the problem like this hxxp://support.microsoft.com/kb/2959977/ ? Because on "How prevent the problem in your environment" section MS write: "Microsoft has released a revised Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 Update (KB 2919355) that addresses this problem. The revised update is now available on WSUS and the Microsoft Download Center".
99% of the people who use KIS have to disable KIS to allow the proper installation of. As I remember M$ also recommends you Disable ANY AV program.
No that has nothing to do with an end-user installation. It fixes a WSUS issue where the server is using 2003/2008 on a ssl connection.
