I got the kb4507434 cumulative security update for IE11 on Windows 7 x64 as soon as it came out this morning. It went through the first part of installing and then just gave me a message that "it did not install". No reason given. Anyone have a similar problem?
First try this Open folder %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\Download make it empty and restart computer, then try again. If no success, let us know.
That didn't work for me. Got the same message. Maybe I will try downloading it again. Maybe the file got corrupted along the way.
I have Windows Update off by choice, so I only get the update I want and not the ones MS wants to install without my permission. See my previous post as to where to get the update. You can see on that page it's easy to find the one for your system.
No issue here installing the Monthly Rollup (which include IE11 cumulative) check logs at C:\Windows\Logs\CBS to see the reason
First of all restore Your current Windows configuration as it should be, repair if is needed ie. run sfc.exe /scannow, if there is something what cannot be repaired, You'll see them in given file. Then is possible think, what to do, how to fix or what at all poosiible to do. As above was said, there is no problems with this update. The reason is in Your side. I recommend before You run file check, delete current CBS log and then You'll get only info related to this scan.
Hello @ darkrats - Take a look at your update history and see if KB4474419 and KB4490628 are already installed. These are the two updates that provide support for SHA-2 signed Windows updates, which I'm pretty starts either this month or in August.
You mean: Code: KB4474419 - Integration of the update has been successfully completed KB4490628 - Integration of the update has been successfully completed
It's only because of this reply i knew https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...ha-2-patch-for-win7.79011/page-2#post-1535424
I checked and don't have either of those two items installed. Are you saying I need to install those before installing KB4507434? Interesting. Those two updates also failed to install.
