I just noticed on Win7 and Win8, that some key Microsoft files have invalid digital signatures.
    Code:
    hal .dll
    halacpi.dll (win7 only)
    halmacpi.dll
    ntfs .sys
    ntoskrnl.exe

    InvalidSig.png

Anyone know why this is and what the cause might be?

Have you checked them from XP?? All files are properly signed here.

Probably because you are checking the file from XP, which does have have the certificates against which these files are validated. For system files whose trust chain is rooted in an OS-provided certificate, you must validate the signature using the OS for which the file was designed.
