I'm guessing it didn't detect your keyboard properly. The settings may have been changed. Try clicking Start, then do a search for "keyboard" (without quotes). Next, select Edit language and keyboard options. Change your Country or region if it needs to get changed. Under Languages, you can Add a language if it isn't correct, and remove anything that shouldn't be there. You'll need to reboot after any changes, I believe. I hope that helps.

Likely it's a problem at driver level, you can also try to force a differend driver and see if it helps.
