It seems like this time it won't be possible to activate WMC in Windows 8.1 either through online Kms activation or offline which is still beta. What you say? Do you think WMC activation would be achieveable some way?
KMS activation of WMC and Core was done by the 3rd party tools which didn't discriminate which SKU they would activate. When KMSv6 protocol is emulated by one of these tools, WMC 8.1 can be activated by them. Right now the only KMS activation of 8.1 is with legitimate KMS servers which have been inadvertently or on purpose exposed to the world.
So the Windows 8.1 WMC activitation would be possible when ......new third party tools arrive or the full final version of KMS emulator arrive?
There are tools to activate WMC I think. Curious to know about the WMC activations done with tools and increase my knowledge.
Maybe some cheap$kate doesn't have a valid WMC key; the emulation tools will activate WMC (and Core) using the GVLK that apparently exist for no reason.

using the latest KMSpico (v9.0.4.20131109) I have successfully activated Windows 8.1 Pro WMC using the gvlk key (-J8D3P). It was in a VM tho. I have a windows 8 WMC key that I bought that I am using now in Windows 8.1, so it is good to know that I can reformat and re install as many times as I want and will be able to have 8.1 Pro WMC activated using KMS. hate ringing Microsoft every time I format just to read out some numbers and get some numbers back......i'm Lazy
I have done the same for the exact same reason... Every time I format and rebuild my RAID array I get a new hard drive UUID and therefore new product id, so I can't use the tokens from my previous activation. My legit WMC Key has to be approved by a M$ technical support rep on the phone, which takes ~10-15 minutes... Using a KMS emulator saves the hassle.
Okay so using the Windows 8.1 ProWMC gvlk key (J8D3P) in "The Ultimate PID Checker" along with a windows 8.1 "pkeyconfig.xrm-ms" using the "custom" option you will find that the Crypto ID is 2617 or 0xA39h. Using the "KeyInfo64" program for creating Windows 8 product keys eg) "KeyInfo64 A39 0 0" (change 0 0 to your liking to produce your own unique key) you will create your very own Windows 8.1 ProWMC product key. It will not validate with M$ servers but seeing as how it is VL key one can use KMSPico to activate their own system offline. Voila!!!!
How do You check that WMC is enabled? (Bottom right on my display reads "Windows 8.1 with Media Center, Build 9600") Is it for 45 days or infinite?
