I have a computer that came with windows 8, but was replaced with windows 7 without making a backup. Windows 8 was later installed with a KMS hack, now I wish to return it to it's original legit state. Is it possible to do without completely formating?
depending of what version come installed, only need to change the key with slmgr -ipk xxxxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxx where xxx is your original key
I don't have that. I didn't make a backup and there is no COA on the computer or any of the paperwork.
