I have a laptop with a 10/100 LAN card! Can I upgrade it with a Gigabit LAN card ? I want faster sharing, so.. help me on this 1 folks.
I know bro, but that's not the point.. The point is, can we upgrade it on our laptop itself ? (like upgrading hdd, RAM, etc)
Have you considered doing everything you need speed for on a desktop and using remote desktop from the laptop?
What on Earth do you have to do that requires you to max out a Gigabit connection ? The money you will spend trying to find an adapter for the laptop you could just buy a usb 3 portable hdd and use that to transfer stuff.
that can be very helpful indeed. Was about to ask the same question. Yes, some wifi can be replaced/changed etc.
If this laptop is old enough to have a 10/100 NIC, it may have a PCMCIA/PC Card/Cardbus slot. If so, I see gigabit NICs on ebay starting at $8.
