Hi their, I have an acer laptop that has a damaged hard drive, once the HD was replaced i installed a copy of xp on, everything is fine its sorted, however the laptop camed with vista, therefor i need to find a way to active the installation. The Laptop contains SLIC 2.0 Table with acer, will it only be specific OEM Acer certificates and keys that work with this SLIC or will any acer certificate and key work ? thanks Joe.
s**t lol, just read it in the how it works thread, How can i get the certificate that matches my SLIC table, or am i stuffed and need to look at other methods?
aye i know their there i read them but i dont understand if i put in the acer cert and key will the slic work, i though the SLIC had to match the Cert? Or does it only match on manfacture?
Okey, This is correct - The SLIC AND Cert need to match with manfacture, and ther cert with serial with the type of windows. All activated once again cheers
Im having issues with this now, I installed the ACER cert from the collection on here and used the Home Premium CD key here coupled with the SLIC from Acer (Unmodified BIOS) But evertime i reboot it is asking me to activate the edition of windows?? Any ideas? p.s. i should say it was working on SP0, but not on SP2?! thanks.
What brand of home premium cd did you use, also download slic dumptool kit from this forum and run that then report back, it will tell you correct slic e.c.t
If the OS is indeed XP Pro as originally stated, how about using the correct activation scheme...Xp does not use cert and serials... I am a bit confused by this issue....Vista or XP?????
The LCD screen is the window to the computer. In a lot of ways the The choice of a screen is a big factor in determining what kind of laptop you are going to get. There are many different sizes of LCD screens that you can get with a given laptop. Say for example you wanted to buy a Dell D610. I am using this example because it is a older model that many people are familiar with. A D610 screen is 14.1", and that is the only size screen you can get with the D610 because of the physical size of the laptop. So if you are set on a 15.1" screen you would not be able to get a D610 because it is not made. In this case you would have to go to a different laptop all together.
