Laptop

    Can someone recommend a great place to buy a great laptop? Mainly used for school I am trying to keep it on the somewhat cheap side. Thanks :p Also are laptops bios able to be flashed the same way I did my desktop?

    Not sure which to recomend,sorry.

    But....

    I do know which NOT to buy, a Sony Vaio !!!!!!

    Bigest pile of sh1t i have ever bought. :mad:

    OEM laptops such as HP/DELL comes with the SLIC2.1 if it comes with Windows 7 by default, there is no need to flash the BIOS again.

    Personally I prefer Asus and Lenovo..

    Personally I prefer Thinkpad series, for it's thinkvantage tools, after a system installation, just install it's system update tools, run it and all drivers will be done. I dislike sony, if you every reformated it yourself and not from its recovery, getting its hotkeys to work is a nightmare.

    Voiture Lumiere is right, those newer windows 7 laptop come with SLIC 2.1, don't need to flash it.
