    Forum,

I have noticed that there are large amounts of Xeons, "3647" processors on the second hand market. Many more than the number of motherboards on sale.

Why is this? Have these processors been found to have vulnerabilities? There are several "generations" of them. They are listed at prices far below what they were initially listed for.

I have seen servers dated 5-7 years old being obsoleted and put on the 2nd hand market.
Most of them loaded with CPU and RAM (but w/o disks) but the amount of 3647 made
me wonder why. After having browsed the internet, it seems that new CPU features
had been added to later generations making upgrades worth the cost.
