I am using a 500GB SSD as my C: disk in my desktop.
I also have a 1TB HDD inside for some storage.
As the storage on my other external HDDs is also stretched to their limits, I was wondering if there is any reason NOT to install a 4TB HDD inside the desktop, replacing the 1TB HDD...

    ???

    Thank you!

Other then that the mainboard/chipset might not recognize a 4TB sized HDD and we dont know (yet) which system you are using, not really, go for it. (after you checked)

For this to work you need to set it up in UEFI/GPT, to be able to boot 2+ TB disks.

Thank you, I found the instructions to switch to GPT, seems simple enough. If I understood Mario correctly, the chipset might be too old? It is an ASRock 85 M, which is several years old. Should I enquire at ASRock?
And, I suppose it makes no difference if Win 11 will be installed on a different disk, and the 4Tb is only for storage?

Thank you all for your help...

Hello sir, please solve this problem and then do that.
    1. Format and initialize the drive.
    2. Seal the laptop case.
    3. Plug in the cords.
    4. Set up the HDD.
    5. Position the drive bays.
    6. Remove the PC case.
    7. Choose the appropriate HDD.
