Hello Forum I have a Lenovo G580 20157 Win 8 preloaded, I am looking for a mod to let me use any Intel dual band WiFi card and remove the white list, The Bios is 62CN89WW UEFI

    UPDATE

First, make a bios backup with this utility http://www.sendspace.com/file/zno9a3 (remove any Bios Passwords and switch to Legacy mode First)
    see below
    (unpack and run FPT_BAK3264_all.exe):

make a screenshot of the utility's window (capture the utility's log)(print screen & paste into Paint)

    and then run fpt32(or 64).exe with "i" option - e.g. fpt64.exe -i

    and capture that report too

look in C:\_BACK folder for *.bin files

Upload the two screen captures and what ever is in C:\_BACK folder to sendspace.com and Private Message links to Serg008 and await modded files

Now grab a USB drive, use http://rufus.akeo.ie/ to create a dos start up drive, unpack files received from Serg008 and also place on USB drive

The Lenovo G580-20157 has a small recovery button beside the power button Called the NOVO button

when computer is turned off, simply press the button and let go of it... it will start up... don't keep pressing the little button

a small menu will come up .. asking you what you want to do, Bios Startup, boot Menu or Recovery

to turn off the secure core, simply choose bios startup from the menu

Bios will pop up and then across the top, you will see BOOT tab and below the UEFI or Legacy options, Choose Legacy mode.. Save and exit.. computer restarts (While in Bios, Remove any passwords in bios)

Then Turn off the computer (not restart)

press the little NOVO button again.. Menu pops up with Bios Setup, Boot Menu or Recovery.. Choose Boot Menu (plug in USB drive)

The boot menu is displayed with all the drives and options to boot from.. Choose the Thumb drive you made with rufus and Modified Bios files from Serg008

Computer will then start in Dos environment .. Type DIR

Now you will see the files from Serg008, Flash1 Flash 2 and other files.. Type Flash1 (or what ever Serg008 has Said) and programming will begin

after bios is reprogrammed, restart... and shut computer down... now press the little recovery button again, Choose bios startup

Return the legacy mode to UEFI... and save, exit.. it will restart

Turn off computer and install the wifi card of choice

Mine worked on first try.. no problems

Each Bios Backup is for your computer ONLY.. My backup will not work on yours, Different Keys and ID's involved.. That makes each Bios one of a kind

If you need help, Let me know.. not a pro, But do understand the Lenovo G580

Also, Change the hard drive to an SSD on the G580 Lenovo, I installed a OCZ Vertex3 SSD and the computer is EXTREMELY FAST.. starts in a few seconds

Original hard drive was extremely slow, took several minutes to start completely
