Hi, I have a Lenovo ThinkPad L390 laptop. I'd like to reset the BIOS defaults because I'm having problems with CPU and temperature management. The CPU gets extremely hot when restarting, and the fan is very late in starting, and the BLUE SCREEN appears even before Windows does. Using a diagnostic program, I see temperatures go above 100°C and the Core thermal limiter kicks in before the BLUE SCREEN appears. When pressing F9 (default) on the BIOS page, nothing happens, so I can't restore the defaults. How can I do that? Is there a utility that allows me to force the defaults? This BIOS version doesn't allow me to keep the fan running all the time, or adjust the CPU voltage. Would you recommend updating the BIOS or fixing the problem first? To turn on the PC, I had to add two fans underneath the laptop, and even with those, I'm barely getting any cooling. First of all, I've already tried: replacing the thermal paste, checking the fan and heatsink are clean (the heatsink gets very hot, so I'd say heat dissipation is fine), updating the BIOS, reinstalling a clean version of Windows, and performing updates via Lenovo Vantage.
