hi guys I was wondering if I could upgrade the lenovo t500 that comes with a windows vista basic to vista ultimate and then afterwords upgrade to windows 7 but first thing first lets focus now only on installing vista ultimate on it. I do have now a dell inspiron 1520 and it was preinstalled with vista basic and I installed successfully a preactivated dell oem vista ultimate on it so as a dell oem XP sp3 and they needed no activation of any sort and worked like a charm so the question here is can I do the same thing with the lenovo t500?, can I simply install a vista ultimate on it with no activation cr**k and what so ever? if I needed some work around please mention it in a step by step basis thanks all
install vista ultimate, then the xrm-ms certificate which you can find on your original vista basic install media in the $OEM$ folder somewhere, then an ultimate OEM:SLP key.
so installing vista ultimate on the t500 without a key whether the vista version is going to be OEM or RTM is going to be practically impossible (I wonder why it happened on dell without any problems)?? adding that where exactly is the $OEM$ folder?? shouldn't I just type slmgr.vbs -ilc C:\MY_FILE.xrm-ms with no concern about the $OEM$ folder place?then slmgr.vbs -ipk "key"?
I wasnt able to activate windows ultimate on my lenovo t500, the windows vista ultimate version i used is th RTM MSDN x64 sp2 version, i was sure i've done everything right still no luck (installede the lenovo license then the oem slp key) any help guys?
