I procured Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 3 from local store and it was pre-loaded with Win 10 Home Edition. I procured Win 10 Pro from Microsoft Store and unable to upgrade the Win 10 Home to Win 10 Pro and I have asked Microsoft to refund to me. After checking with local support, they told me the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 3 I procured is of model 20TKS00500 and this model does NOT support upgrade to Win 10 Pro. Is there any way to allow my notebook computer to support upgrade to Win 10 Pro ?
If Win 10 Home was preinstalled then Windows 10 Pro should be supported if not contact Lenovo support as some models have problems with Windows may 2020 updated version.
How did you proceed to do the upgrade ? Normally, the upgrade should succeed through this generic win10 pro key but you will have to disable internet from the machine so that the upgrade can succeed. The pre-installed Windows 10 Home bundled with digital license and I performed the Windows 10 Pro upgrade from Microsoft Store. The local support mentioned the model 20TKS00500 is different from model 20TK001FUS and it does not support upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. I have contacted Microsoft Support from Redmond and they were unable to resolve my issue and have to refund to me from Microsoft Store. Microsoft have given me the SAME product key as you did but that didn't help to resolve my issue.
