Hi, guys. Just a fast question. When the Windows 8 promotion was in place i took advantage of it and brought a Windows 8 Pro key using my old XP Home license(its legal). Everything is fine and so but i wonder can i remove the old XP COA sticker or i need to keep it if the guys in black come to check if i brought everything legally? After all i keep my Win8 Pro e-mail and receipt, just haven't ordered the back up DVD they offer. Thanks.
Its your computer you do what you want. Like you know already you cannot activate using that old key anyway now, you could take it off if you like.
WOW that was a fast response. Well i have no intend to use the old XP key. I don't need it. Just wanna know if i can remove it from my case or i still need to save it there, so if there is need(Lets say a check from the authorities) to prove that i got my Win8 the legal way? P.S. I'm from those guys that like their cases clean from stickers .
No need to be on the case, but you should keep it. After all, you bought an upgrade license, and the XP COA is the prerequisite license.
COA sticker are useless unless you need the serial number to install that version of Windows. M$ is not going to come kick down your door..... :closed:
