Is there any way someone could post which files and folders should be on the xp installation disc? I've been browsing through torrents but they are all hacktivated or modified with bloatware in some way. I'd really appreciate it if I could compare those iso's to the correct contents of a legit xp installation iso so that I could remove any useless modifications (including keygens/preactivations, as I have a legit product key and would like to use it). As I understand it that may not solve the problem of viruses disguised as valid windows files. Would a routine antivirus scan of the download be able to catch something like this? Thanks, tian
I tried the link urie provided for PRO. It seems to be working all right in my VM (wmware player) but it gave me some weird messages during the install. - It said unattended installation wouldn't work properly so I would have to manually enter information, which was fine but I didn't ask for unattend in the first place. I'm assuming the iso was prepared that way? How would I remove that? - It also said the installation couldn't find the virtual drive, but I never specified any drives for it to find. I clicked ok and it just went about its business and seems to be doing just fine. What the hell?
