So, operating on the theory that the "nuts and bolts" "behind the scenes" "bones" of Windows 10 are good, strong, sturdy, faster, better, more efficient, safer, more secure and overall better than Win 8/7/XP, etc... and the only "real" problems are things that an intelligent and motivated computer User can fix, there should be a published document of "Things to Do" immediately after you install Windows 10. For me, the list started during the installation, when I disallowed/disabled/said "NO" to all the various "share your private details with the NSA, Google and the Chinese Government" options. Then, get rid of: the weird "Task Button" thingie (still haven't figured out how to do that). the "Search" bar etc... Install: Google Chrome Pale Moon Classic Shell KMS Pico? for Activation, etc... It would be nice if I had a list to work off of, instead of having to experience all the horror of it 1st hand, like some dumb blond in a Slasher flick. Obviously there are some areas where intelligent people will disagree, and other areas where intelligent people will not waste their time & energy arguing with the stupid, but there should be some solid ground where EVERYONE can agree that Windows 10 needs fixing, right off the bat, from the instant you see it's ugly, flat, 2-dimensional GUI (oh yeah, note add "Restore Windows "Aero" to the list) What's the deal with the ugly, primary school windows with no borders and it looks like you can't resize them. I'm glad I got this for free. This is why they won't give you your money back after you purchase and MS product. I don't "hate" it, but it sure as hell needs fixing. Let's start a prioritized list, most important to less important.
@Garbellano Option 3 is very dangerous Your computer is increasingly exposed to many threats... Minus will run XP that gets no updates its t he same thing
Immediately after Win10 installation I create an image of the system before it gets a chance to update., then I Install shadow protect for my own amusement after I trash something in Windows so I can revert back if I choose to. Software installs: Office, Acrobat, Jasc Paint Shop Pro, UltraISO, Vmware Workstation, Burp Suite, Paragon Hard Disk Manager, Radmin, Angry IP Scanner, Windows ADK, firefox, chrome, IDM, torrent clients, Filezilla Server, MPC-HC, hashcheck & hashtab, winrar, 7zip, Winhex, ExamDiff Pro, Ettercap, Febooti's Filetweak "Case" module, and then make an image of the system again. After that its pretty much random, as needed things that come up from time to time lol
install: maya 2015 maya 2016 Zbrush 3ds max 2015/16 substance designer/painter topogun 3d-coat photoshop unrealengine 4 vc 2005/2008/2010/2013/2012/2014 direct x bf3/bf4/bf4 cte all my steam games steam origins premiere pro and obs multiplatform/normal obs use ninite for google chrome media player vlc and a ton of other stuff then disable any non needed start items and services and all done then tweak

Its all really rhetorical till the 29th, to be honest, I think Redstone would be laughing there face off, if they have a sense of humor, as to the way Ten is a present and this 240 build was complied on the 11th. They have a way to go yet, But its been good Sheeple Programming so far.. As to first install on any operating system Nod Smart v8 safe mode Restart Pale Moon with uBlock revo uninstaller winamp and VLC for media Nero 8 Ditto clipboard manger etc This 240 build I leave alone as I find it still a bit buggy. I just activated by itself, no xtra help from me on that side of it, I still prefer Se7en, wont put this on my pc use a swap out drive on laptop, Toshiba Sat 12gb ram, strange part, does not make any difference swapping drive, it still jus works pc is 8 core 16gb ram 250gb 840 pro samsung ssd water cool cpu + gpu runs at 32 celus all day
Can you confirm that ShadowProtect v.5.23 worked for you in restore full backup ? I have made a full backup windows 10240 using my RE USB . Backup and verify went fine. Next, to test I restored two days later (full restore of the System c: partition) - No hidden partition - and after restoring I was unable to boot into Windows 10 (error inaccessible device). I guess Shadowprotect has played with the BCD store. In the log I found "BCD has been corrected ". I never get rid of this problem. Had to reinstall Windows from ISO.
