I feel shell shocked at the utter stupidity here. Troubleshooter no longer for networks. Every now and then I lose my internet connection, flaky network card I guess. Win10 troubleshooter resets the adapter in about a minute. Now that's gone replaced by some monstrosity called 'get help', which you first have to install windows store first to even get...?? This can't be real. Am I missing something here...??? Thanks.
Run: "msdt.exe -id NetworkDiagnosticsNetworkAdapter" The legacy Troubleshooters were removed from the UI, but remain in Windows. MS promises to really wipe them in 2025. Well, ya see I put a card in to handle my 3gig speed which the onboard could not handle, and it basically works great for a 100 bucks. Next one up was quite a bit pricier, so for the 30 seconds it takes to reset the adapter every so often it's not worth the extra expense when yer retired and on a fixed income.
get yourself a 5ghz router instead it will cost you less and will perform better than any top most expensive network card. just change its settings to work as a network card for example tplink can do that. plenty of tutorials on the internet and when you finally make it work you will never go back to any pci etc card.
I'll be content keeping the far more convenient and very functional one in win10. I am from the "it it ain't broke, don't fix it".
