    hello guys,
i own a HP Pavilion laptop embedded with windows vista, but cos i cant work properly with it i need to switch back to xp. I read all the material about this topic in the forum but i still have some hesitations. I got a Windows XP SP2 OEM cd plus the OEMBIOS files needed, but i didnt get what files i have to modify apart setupp.ini (that indicates if winxp is oem, etc...). I want to make a normal install and not a silent one, so what do i have to do ? just mod OOBEINFO.INI ? and in wich way ? any other file needs to be modded(like winnt.ini) ?
    thanks for your help
    best regards

I'd dump your OEM bios files into i386 or grab the ones from the .zip file in the other thread here about HP OEM bios. The files in the other thread are already modified for HP.

Most of the 'unattended' or silent install settings that are applied to the various setup files on a windows cd simply make it so that you are not prompted for a product key or a few other things (computer name or admin password depending). Other than those changes the setup is normal. You'll see all the same stuff on screen as any other windows install.
