I need to lock down guest/public computers in a computer lab running Windows 7. Are there any freeware programs out there similar to SteadyState, but for Windows 7?

Actually I just stumbled across SteadierState and Wioski and they're freeware (using built-in Windows 7 tools)

although not free, I use acronis "try and decide", but I think the solution you found is better suited to your needs. Nice find btw, thanks

Note if you are using Windows Home Premium or Windows 7 Basic Steadier State will not work, from their website:

"Steadier State requires: Windows 7 EnterpriseĀ® / Windows 7 UltimateĀ® and machine use of one (1) physical hard drive."

It's basically only intended for student or classroom use so every student can work from the same exact enviornmen which is probably what you are looking for.
