I have a weird problem. One of my clients PC's got a bad harddisk. I could repair it with chkdsk.
After a restart, the Start menu wouldn't work. In fact, not a single app worked, only desktop apps.
So I added two users using Powershell in order to be able to repair the damaged profile.
After logging out or a restart, the login screen is empty. WTF!

Can't get a restore point to work: "Choose a Windows install first. Then choose Repair".

    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Happened to my cousin too.
Had to re-install all the stuff again.

    Not yet.
Booting W10 USB as UEFI allows me to start System Restore.
Couldn't put back a restore point yet, as the disk needs more checks. Running chkdsk /r now... :g:
