I have a strange request. My brother had a HP Desktop that had 5 blown caps so it needed replacement. He purchased a new motherboard but after installing it Vista would not activate. I looked for the slic but there was only a slp1.0 in the bios. This originally was oem activated Vista but I can't seem to find the original 2.0 slic'ed bios. If anybody has or knows where I can find this original bios I would be grateful. The board is a HP M2N68-LA narra3 revision 3.02. The HP part # is 5189-1661. I would of given him a new computer but he has all of his business software and data on the HP and some of it is no longer available. Thanks in advance, budzos
the old bios wont work on new board anyways. make backup of new board bios then we mod with slic 2.0 and flash back.
Now that I can do. I will head over to his house tonight and backup his bios. What would be the best tool to back the bios up with? Thanks, budzos
it does. but on some types it grabs too much.. lets try it. or do dos and put awdflash.exe and backup.bat in usb.
usb stick. if it works sometimes universalbackup is not good idea. optionaly u can put backup.bat with awdflash in usb and make a backup. should be same tho.
