I wanted to wait as long as I could before posting a new thread here but I've searched for an entire day now and downloaded 5 useless ISO's (1 was partially useful). I just need an ISO for the full retail Core version of Windows 8, not 8.1 in x64, single language English. --- Long story short, I was trying to reset my Sony Vaio with preinstalled Windows 8 using onboard recovery feature. It somehow failed halfway through and royally screwed up everything. So now I'm just trying to get Win8 back on it using the product key I had to extract from the BIOS (wasn't fun). I haven't had any good links yet that take less than 12 hours to download on my 50mbps connection or downloads that just die after 10 mins. Please help!
This was actually the most recent one I tried to download. Failed at 20% with Chrome, failed at 44% with IE (last resort). My internet has been working perfectly for every other site including BitTorrent and Netflix and other downloads so it can't be my connection. Thanks for the response though, I seriously thought that was the one.
What advantage does that have over 8? (Installation wise) I didn't have any luck the first time. It installed but the product key isn't working.
Less updates to install .... . What version was originally installed is the question, Core or CoreSingleLanguage.
I'm guessing Core because in recovery it had MANY languages to choose from. I actually just found out that the product key that I supposedly got from the BIOS using RWeverything was no good. So now I have to figure out a way to get that before I continue.
