Looking for Windows 8 "Legitimate" Activation Method

    I was looking through this forum some weeks ago and a few people were mentioning a "trick" or something that was getting people real activations or so I believe. I could be completely wrong, but is it a phone call I could make or something? Would anyone mind helping me out with this? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Thanks. I've been a lurker for 4 years...

    Four years and you haven't seen that there is no legitimate way to activate Windows 8 unless you have a OEM/Retail key? (other that having a MAK/VL key that you have the right to use.)

    KMS is the only route to go now.

    I heard about the phone activation route where you could use a WMC key after installing WIndows 8 and activate that way but I think that has been stopped.

    Phone activation should still work but the wmc key trick has been stopped. I got a real win 8 key so no worries for me unless ms get idea to say I need new key for 8.1.
    @anoutherjohn if you do the phone activation(can't be discussed here)back up your licence so you don't have to do it again.

    Read the first Sticky in this thread. Yes, it is massive, but the fact that it has been viewed over 3 million times should imply it's importance. (Okay, I'll tell you the ending - it is Microsoft Toolkit. I think the latest version is 2.4.7 - that may be the "trick" to which you are referring).
