    Hello,

I'm just trying to have my thinkpads accept Intel-7260-ac-cards. But evan the x230t (i7, Bios V.:2.62) does not .

I should be very happy to find a modded bios for this and the other two Laptops. Any help possible?

Maybe anyone has a Zender- or Middleton-Bios for the X200T and the X201T? I can't find them in the Internet.

As far as I see by now, an X230t-Bios-mod is be difficult, and I don't feel like soldering or the like. Rather I should like to find someone, who has overcome those obstackles Lenovo has installed and achieved a "free" X230T.

    Is there anyone out there?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello all, hello Serge008,

at last I found modded Bioses for my X200T and X201T Problem..., Thanks to thinkpads.com and to Your Site.

    But:
No Workaround for the locks on the X230T, that do not ask for soldering (definitely not my Hobby) ?

I read the thread  and I am impressed.... Just considering, trying to get me to the point:

    1. If I manage to extract the info needed to change/edit the whitelist (1) as suggested here, I should be able to produce the data needed to reprogram the chip (2)?
    2. Tools for and ways of extracting are indicated here, will I find the tools in the internet or will I have to have access to specialists knowhow?
    3. If I than upload the data here / to a place where You find it, You / someone could produce data to replace the "wrong" / restricting one (3), correct?
    4. Using that data-download, I might than reprogram my Bios-chip, given either having unsoldered the chip or having an onsite-prgrammer, that requires some Attention (voltage, positioning of the adapter, right (4)?
    5. If I should dare to do that,

    • where to find the appropriate programmer (hardware),
    • add on (cablling & adapter) and
    • software,
    • has anyone a tutorial for a nonspecialist?

Thanks in advance for any help an advice; I'm not a specialist, I'm just a user...

I should prefer Lenovo unlocking their Bioses, at least gradually, after some 5 years in the market, but that seems vain...
