Hello, I am wondering if anyone has a link to xp home upgrade with sp3. I went to reinstall my operating system, and found out my disc no longer works. It keeps giving me a per_seg5.swf error when the file is on the disc.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Is your machine home built or from a manufacturer?

if you happen to have a working xp code
i suggest you just use any old xp cd and then
    enter the code you have,
sounds like the xp cd-disk is less than healthy..

I had windows 2000 originally on my machine and purchased an upgrade. I had cracked the original disc in a move a while back but I had found a download.

I tried that but it keeps saying the key is invalid. But I have the folder with the key stuck right on it in front of me.

There is only one text file that you need to edit on your XP cd to make it accept upgrade keys. No BIOS editing required.

I don't have that information handy, but if you google it, I'm sure you'll find it. Actually, instructions are probably on these forums somewhere...
