Hello, I am wondering if anyone has a link to xp home upgrade with sp3. I went to reinstall my operating system, and found out my disc no longer works. It keeps giving me a per_seg5.swf error when the file is on the disc.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Is your machine home built or from a manufacturer?

if you happen to have a working xp code
i suggest you just use any old xp cd and then
    enter the code you have,
sounds like the xp cd-disk is less than healthy..

I had windows 2000 originally on my machine and purchased an upgrade. I had cracked the original disc in a move a while back but I had found a download.

I tried that but it keeps saying the key is invalid. But I have the folder with the key stuck right on it in front of me.

after you ID board you can use this tool to add string to BIOS (depending on make and model of board)http://forums.mydigitallife.net/thr...Award-AMI-Intel-BIOS-(Add-SLP1-0-w-o-modding)

then you can choose an OEM XP Pro Sp3 ISO from here that matches the added string ..also give the page a good read.. http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/25580-Windows-XP-Pro-OEM-SP3-Archive-(Untouched-ISOs)?p=398462&viewfull=1#post398462

edit: Thanks 911 medic for catching that edited accordingly and thanks for the great tool BTW

There is only one text file that you need to edit on your XP cd to make it accept upgrade keys. No BIOS editing required.

I don't have that information handy, but if you google it, I'm sure you'll find it. Actually, instructions are probably on these forums somewhere...
