Lost partition with value data in w7

    yes spinrite save me once, my partition was marked as being RAW too

    @FreeStyler ...like I said ... I scanned with active partition recovery, but unsuccessfully :(
    I'll give a try with spinrite...

    just assign a new drive litter for the drive

    I just assigned a letter ...now is asking me to format the partition. And I'm not dooing that :|

    Maybe you should have taken an image of it when you first discovered you couldn't read it.

    You then try and find a successful way to recover the image without trying something that may not work on the original.

    Also see if you can read it in another computer. I have seen this work sometimes.

    No, without easy recovery....in the past I had bad experiences winth ontrak....so...no

    Do not and I mean do not convert to that assinine Dynamic disk from MS, I did and lost all my data

    It's possible you could install the latest acronis and rebootusing F11 and try to backup the stuff if it will recognize the disk. my 2 cents

    I'd give Acronis DiskDirector a try - version 2160 installs on 7 and should attempt to recover external partitions OK - and you can create, or find a download of, a bootable CD.

    I have used Acronis DiskDirector more than a few times to recover lost partitions. If you're working with an external partition it should be OK. You can always uninstall after and I would as it is not specifically designed for 7 - supports Vista.

    Choose recover partition and let it run - what have you got to lose?
