Today I thought I'd set a picture for my user account. Nothing happens when I click or double click on the user account icon in the control panel. I then went to check if our other pc was the same but that's fine. I did notice that on mine instead of an icon of two people the icon is that of a folder. I have tried accessing it through "Godmode" and it says it can't find it and also all the icons for user tasks are a blank piece of paper. Any ideas, google's not being much help. Errors were found but some couldn't be fixed, I had a look at the log but it meant nothing to me, user accounts still not working. I'll try a restart but I suppose this means a re-install Mike
probably yes.did you modify some of you system files like installing 3rd party themes with uxtheme patcher or something similar ?
Apart from "proper programs" the only things I've installed are Speccy, and Classic shell. I have also run kmsnano and a helper program to activate Office, win8 was mak+phone. I really don't know what caused this or when. Mike
Here's all I see. I cannot open the account picture setting or even the accounts page. I have tried through the control panel, godmode and clicking on my user icon on the start menu. Mike
Ah, got to it through the metro start page, now to see if I can access users. Fingers crossed. Update, I can change my picture but still can't access users. As I don't need to add a user I will probably keep calm and carry on. Mike
I followed your instructions perfectly, it doesn't work on my system. It's obvious I have corrupted files, I am able to get to the user settings on my other win8 pc no problem. Mike
