The last time I tried Windows 10 it was LTSB and I was able to download a ISO directly from MSFT and use KMS or use a key from a friend who got them from his employer for cheap. Now apparently you have to download an ISO or something from somewhere, then download some SVF files to patch that ISO to the latest version? I've read dozens of different posts on MDL .. how did things get so complicated? I have a LTSC 2019 license, can I just download the LTSC 2019 ISO MSFT directly, and if so how? I'm concerned about downloading ISOs hosted by anyone other than MSFT, which is also why I prefer to just pay the $3 for a key. If there is a FAQ I should have read, please point me to it. I hate posting noob questions when the answers are spelled out somewhere. Thanks in advance for any help/advice.
No LTSB ISO will have been publicly available directly from MSFT (EVAL only), same as with any MVS/VLSC Business or LTSC ISO. I doubt your LTSC 2019 license is obtained legally either, probably a shared or stolen MAK.
I don't have the instructions on how I did it before, but I do recall downloading LTSB from MSFT. Apparently you can resell your licenses legally in the EU. Its $3 .. I've read plenty of your posts btw, and I have a new laptop I would love to put LTSC 2019 on.
Haha .. yeah, I've seen CDW selling them for USD 275 or something like that. Anyway, you've written most of the posts I've read about how to get LTSC. As I wrote in my OP, I'm a bit confused .. now someone has to get the ISO, and then use SVF files to patch it? Shouldn't the ISO just get all the updates once you install LTSC 2019?
So then, is there a way to get an ISO to install LTSC 2019 and know that it has not been tampered with?
You can use @whatever127 's MVS dump (Literally the second thing in their signature) and verify the ISO you download with the hashes. If it's not tampered with, the hashes will match. If you want LTSC directly from Microsoft, get a proper license for it through the Volume Licensing program .-.
The file is downloaded immediately for some reason instead of being opened in browser. Look in downloads folder for it.
I am not sure to get it, how is that working? also is that needed if going the kms local server way, or other kms mechanism (as i can figure out here, when the times comes for me, to give up w7). What good is that key, without proper volume license?
