I have installed today the new bios 3603 from ASUS for the P8Z68-V PRO.
In the UEFI now appear a text about Lucid MVP Option, that doesn't exists before. Maybe it works now?! I can't test it now because I'm not at home.
It is an ASUS mistake or something is moving on... crossing fingers ^_^

I noticed that too but still 30 day trial!

I noticed that too today with 3603 on my Z68 Deluxe. Think it's a typo or maybe Asus is just teasing us but I couldn't get the Virtu Control panel activated permanently. Still says 30 days trial but at least you can uninstall reinstall it.

Anyhow so no one knows how to crack the license in the dsdt or bios level? I wish Revogirl was still with us. She could have figured this out with her eyes closed..

    sigh..

How do you uninstall and reinstall? I think mine says my trial has expired when I reinstall. Any special tricks?

    Uninstall procedure

Basically in the 'installed programs' list I click uninstall and then it asks me to keep or remove program settings and I checked remove. Then I reinstalled (newer version) and have 30 days again. I was surprised to see another 30 days. Try it.

I wrote yesterday to ASUS! I'm attending their answer. They indicate me that there was a new version of Lucid Logix, released 3 days ago. Have you tried it?
I also posted in ASUS Community but no one can aswer me. They suggest to modiding BIOS in order to running MVP on our mainboards.

I downloaded and installed the verson released on December 2. It still says Trial version, 30 days left. I fear that when those 30 days are gone I will not be able to uninstall and reinstall, unless I somehow manage to wipe Virtu totally from my system.

Same here, seems asus is telling more than one user to check the "dec 3rd" version: but it still tells me 30 days left (29 now).

Maybe some misunderstandings between Lucidlogix and Asus?

I think the problem is that Asus or Intel or whoever didn't buy a license for Z68 boards. Don't think they will either. Therefore, the only solution for us consumers is either to hope for a retial version from Lucid or to keep trying to circumvent the trial restrictions.

Maybe I am just an optimist, but thinking as an "error" from Asus writing "MVP" in the latest bios, seems odd to me. I mean, they could release an updated bios without that string the day after, avoiding mail floods, or do something like that.

But I think Bomba is right when he says that would be very strange if Asus starts giving out things for free...

    Time will tell! :(

    Hi all,

I might have a solution for Z68 Chipset and getting MVP to run without expiration see here > VIRTU MVP 60 days.jpg

As you can see mine has a 60 day expiry on the final version and by default the most you can get on an unlicensed install is 30 days, I have to monitor it over the next few days to see if it keeps working but fingers crossed we will have a working patch for Z68 Chipsets and I will let you all know how to do it.

    Cheers

    Hi all,

Ok the way you want to lock the trial period is by using a small application called "FakeDate" I'm not the author of the application but I stumbled accross it a few years ago,

The application was created back in 2000 and though there is no mention of newer OS's being supported it does work perfect on my Windows 7 & 8 x64 installs.

It comes with a really good instructions and since I don't own it I'm not going to host it but a Google search will help you find it.

    Enjoy!
